‘Postcards from Bodrum’ uses the postcard format to rethink notions of travel, place, and experience, relative to tourism.

The first addition of Cura Bodrum Residency took place in August 2008. Bodrum is a peninsula on the Aegean Sea with a long history of civilization and culture. In the past two decades, it has become a famous tourist location which has led to serious damage of the ecology, economy and local culture. With the decisions of the current government, most of the protected forestland is being sold to encourage continued investment and development in the region. It is urgent to reflect on the contemporary realities the region is facing, while digging into its long history and traditions. Sustainability is a major issue that is at the root of all the long-term problems that will arise as the result of this shortsighted consumption.
